How often should I cut my grass?
Most lawns are cut on a fortnightly basis March-November, and finer lawns will benefit being cut once a week.
How much water does my lawn need a week?
Your lawn needs about 25mm of water per week. To measure this simply put a cup under your sprinkler and time how long it takes to fill up to 25mm and move it to the next location for the same period of time. Water your lawn once a week like this and it will be enough. This equates to under £4 per 100m2 per week for a few months of the year... A small price to pay for a lovely lawn.
Are your weed killers safe for pets?
The weedkillers I use are safe once dry. I always advise not to let your pets on your out for a couple of hours after application. Some grazing animals such as horses may be advised to be kept off grass areas for a certain amount of time depending on the problem.
How much do you charge?
We offer a set/fixed price on jobs, just like a window cleaner or a hair dresser. Whist you may find some gardeners offer a lower ‘hourly rate’, this is usually short lived. To explain this ‘Bob’ down the road offers to cut your grass for £20 per hour with his £100 lawn mower. We offer to cut your grass for £20 as a fixed price with our £1500 lawn mower and it takes us half the time and produces a much better finish. Investing in high quality tools has allowed us to cut our work time down whilst significantly improving work quality.. There are however some instances where an hourly rate is necessary- this will be discussed per job.
Do we need to be home when you come?
You do not need to be home when we come, so long as we have access to your garden and a gate is left open.
